Stepney – fire in shop with flats above it
Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters were called to a fire in a three storey shop with flats above it on Commercial Road, E1, yesterday evening (14th Nov).
Around 20 per cent of the ground floor and approximately 60 per cent of the first floor were damaged by fire.
The Brigade was called at 2301 and the fire was under control by 0033. Crews from Old Kent Road, Shadwell, Bethnal Green and Shoreditch fire stations attended the incident.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 introduces significant change.
